General Purpose:

Responsible todesign and implement scalable, secure, and optimized data architectures that enable seamless data flow across integrated enterprise-centric ecosystems.The Data Architect provides strategic data technical vision while leading immediate data architecture initiatives.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing data models that support business processes, analytics, and reporting requirements, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Establishing and enforcing data governance policies to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulations.
  • Designing and implementing solutions to integrate data from various sources, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.
  • Defining and implementing a robust and scalable data strategy, including data warehousing, data lakes, and other data platforms.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders, data platform teams, vendors and other IT teams to understand data needs and ensure data solutions meet business objectives.
  • Implementing and maintaining data security measures, including access controls and encryption, to protect sensitive information.
  • Translatingbusiness requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
  • Develop andmaintainan inventory of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners, and stewards.
  • Work with data owners and stewards to develop andmaintaina business glossary, metadata, and a library of data assets in the enterprise data governance software.
  • Design and implement processes for further expanding data governance processes and the data governance software environment.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Stayingup-to-dateon emerging technologies and evaluating their potential to enhance the organization's data capabilities.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to other team members on data architecture best practices.
  • Developand report on enterprise data governance KPIs and Metrics
  • Assistwith performing enterprise data governance maturity assessments
  • Facilitate the development of data quality standards and processes
  • Other duties as assigned by VP Digital Services or CIO.

Job Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles, including relational and dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks (DAMA DMBOK preferred)
  • Strong Experience with API-led connectivity and integration frameworks using MuleSoft, Workato, Astera or related data unification systems
  • Expertise in relational and dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and cloud-based data solutions
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools and techniques, such as Lucidchart, ERwin, ER/Studio or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, enabling identification and resolution of complex data related issues
  • Experience managing data related projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
  • Knowledge of data security best practices, including encryption, access control, and data loss prevention

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience):

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field and 5 or more years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data management, or large-scale data engineering, OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Qualified candidates will have at least 3+ years' experience with cloud data platforms, ETL processing and API management (required).

It is preferred that the candidate has 3+ years' experience with Data Cloud implementation and advanced MuleSoft integration patterns. Finally, a strong familiarity with agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices is also preferred.

Preferred Certifications

Salesforce Certified Data Architect and MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect.

Certification in data management or related field (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional)

Work Environment/Physical Activities

Occasional travel to one of BHFCU's branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.

This position is remote work eligible under certain circumstances.

This position has the option of a hybrid work schedule. An assessment of the remote work environment must be completed prior to a remote work plan being developed.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
