About the job Remote | Pediatric Registered Nurse (Inpatient Care) - $45-$55/hour
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced Pediatric Registered Nurses with recent acute-care inpatient bedside experience and strong expertise in paediatric nursing assessment, clinical documentation, and patient-care workflows.
This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating clinical outputs and structured nursing data using real-world paediatric bedside experience. Selected nurses will assess documentation accuracy, annotate inpatient assessment data, identify clinical inconsistencies, and provide expert feedback to support high-quality healthcare evaluation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Paediatric Clinical Review

  • Review clinical outputs using frontline paediatric nursing judgement
  • Assess information for clinical accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Identify missing, conflicting, or potentially unsafe information
  • Evaluate whether outputs appropriately reflect inpatient paediatric care
  • Apply current bedside documentation practices to clinical review
Nursing Assessment & Documentation
  • Review nursing flowsheet documentation and structured assessment data
  • Evaluate comprehensive paediatric nursing assessments
  • Verify that documentation reflects relevant clinical findings and patient status
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in nursing documentation
  • Assess adherence to appropriate documentation standards and practices
Clinical Data Annotation
  • Annotate and structure inpatient paediatric nursing assessment data
  • Follow detailed annotation guidelines consistently
  • Categorise and evaluate clinical information according to project requirements
  • Identify ambiguous cases requiring clarification
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency across repeated clinical review tasks
Chart & Documentation Quality
  • Review chart-based information for completeness and clinical coherence
  • Identify discrepancies between assessments, documentation, and clinical context
  • Evaluate whether important nursing findings have been appropriately captured
  • Apply experience with inpatient documentation workflows when assessing edge cases
  • Support refinement of review standards where documentation scenarios are ambiguous
Clinical Quality Evaluation
  • Evaluate generated clinical responses for accuracy, safety, and reliability
  • Identify clinically meaningful errors, omissions, and inconsistencies
  • Provide clear explanations for identified documentation or assessment issues
  • Distinguish substantive clinical concerns from minor documentation differences
  • Apply consistent clinical judgement across assignments
Guideline & Benchmark Development
  • Contribute feedback where annotation guidance requires clarification
  • Discuss difficult or ambiguous clinical cases with project teams
  • Help refine evaluation criteria based on real-world nursing practice
  • Support development of high-quality clinical benchmarks
  • Collaborate with technical and clinical contributors to improve evaluation quality
Ideal Profile
  • Active U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) licence outside California
  • Recent paediatric acute-care inpatient bedside experience
  • Inpatient bedside nursing experience within the past 10 years, with current or more recent documentation experience strongly prioritised
  • Comfortable performing and documenting comprehensive paediatric nursing assessments
  • Strong understanding of inpatient nursing flowsheets and clinical documentation
  • Ability to follow detailed annotation and evaluation guidelines consistently
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond constructively to feedback
  • Experience with Epic EHR is preferred
  • Experience with quality improvement, utilisation review, CDI, clinical informatics, chart abstraction, or clinical documentation review is advantageous
  • Previous healthcare annotation or clinical evaluation experience is advantageous
  • Comfortable learning web-based annotation and review tools
Engagement Details
  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Compensation: $45-$55/hour
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Work focuses on paediatric inpatient nursing assessment, clinical documentation, structured data review, and expert evaluation
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, healthcare organisation, institution, patient, or other third party
