Position Summary

The Sales & Business Data Lead is responsible for providing sales analytics, commercial business insights, pricing administration, and operational support that enable the sales organization to make informed business decisions. This role partners closely with the Vice President of Sales, Regulatory Compliance Teams, and Operations to ensure product pricing, forecasting, sales reporting, and product information are accurate, timely, and actionable.


In addition, the Sales & Business Data Lead supports regulatory compliance activities, new product registrations, and product data management while serving as the primary administrator for product cost sheets and pricing uploads within the AgVance/AGRIS ERP system.


This position plays a critical role in improving commercial execution through data accuracy, process management, and business intelligence.


Primary Responsibilities

Sales Analytics & Business Intelligence

· Develop and maintain sales dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure sales performance, profitability, product mix, and market trends.

· Analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities, pricing trends, and customer purchasing patterns.

· Provide actionable business insights to VP of Sales and Territory Business Managers.

· Support annual sales planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

· Develop recurring reports that monitor sales performance against budget and forecast.

· Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes through data analysis and automation.


Pricing & Product Cost Management

· Maintain and update product cost sheets to ensure Territory Business Managers have accurate cost and margin information.

· Support the development and execution of pricing strategies in partnership with Product Management and Finance.

· Calculate and maintain product margins, freight impacts, and promotional pricing.

· Validate pricing accuracy prior to implementation.

· Ensure all approved pricing is uploaded accurately and maintained within the AgVance/AGRIS ERP system.

· Audit pricing files and investigate discrepancies to maintain system integrity..


Forecasting & Commercial Support

· Assist with annual product demand forecasting and inventory planning.

· Monitor sales trends to improve forecast accuracy.

· Provide analytical support for new product launches and promotional programs.

· Assist Product Management with product performance reviews and portfolio optimization.

· Work with Marketing Team to ensure materials are created, distributed and are current for available products


Regulatory & Product Administration

· Support 3rd party regulatory compliance activities.

· Assist with new product registrations and label management.

· Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure timely product registrations.

· Monitor registration renewal timelines and compliance requirements.

· Assist with maintaining product specifications and master data.


ERP & Data Management

· Serve as the primary administrator for commercial pricing data within the AGRIS ERP platform.

· Ensure product master data, cost sheets, and pricing information remain consistent, accurate and current.

· Support testing and implementation of ERP enhancements affecting pricing or product information.

· Maintain documentation for pricing processes and standard operating procedures.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with Sales Team, Product Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment of commercial activities.

· Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and leadership presentations.

· Assist with special projects that improve commercial effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent experience may be considered.


Experience

· 3–7 years of experience supporting sales operations, business analytics, pricing, product management, or commercial operations.

· Experience within agriculture, crop protection, fertilizer, biologicals, or related industries preferred.

· Experience working with ERP systems, preferably AgVance and/or AGRIS.

· Experience supporting pricing administration and commercial reporting.


Knowledge & Skills

· Ability to utilize a blending tool to calculate raw materials required.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis.

· Experience with Power BI preferred.

· Strong understanding of pricing strategy and margin analysis.

· Excellent organizational and project management skills.

· High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Physical Requirements

· This position will be based at the Boone Iowa Acre Edge office.

· Occasional travel to company locations, sales meetings, or industry events.

· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
