SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Visual Analyst to support an opportunity remotely.

Position Overview Section

We are seeking a talented Visual Analyst to support the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) and the Analysis of Waiver Risk Evidence (AWARE) team. This position transforms complex health, personnel, and operational data into interactive visualizations and dashboards that support evidence-based decision-making across the Department of the Air Force (DAF).

The successful candidate will leverage modern business intelligence and data visualization tools to create intuitive dashboards, identify trends in health surveillance data, and communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with the Analysis of Waiver Risk Evidence (AWARE) team to design and conduct visual analyses of health surveillance, personnel, deployment, and operational datasets.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics that support Air Force medical readiness, force health protection, and operational decision-making.
  • Create compelling data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, SAS Viya, and SAS Enterprise Guide to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Analyze healthcare, personnel, and operational data to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities for improving health outcomes.
  • Support data collection, integration, and preparation for visual analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for the Aeromedical Waiver Division (AMWD), including key performance indicators (KPIs), health risk trends, healthcare utilization, return on investment, and program performance metrics.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and briefing materials to communicate study findings and analytical results.
  • Present findings to government leadership, technical teams, and scientific audiences.
  • Collaborate with epidemiologists, data scientists, clinicians, and military stakeholders to develop innovative visualization solutions.
  • Provide consultation and technical support on AWARE data products and visual analytics initiatives.
  • Interface regularly with USAFSAM/FESO leadership and program staff to support mission requirements.

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Master's degree in:
    • Epidemiology
    • Statistics
    • Data Science
    • Bioinformatics
    • or a closely related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in visual analytics, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and leading visual analyses of healthcare, surveillance, or military datasets.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Data visualization
    • Population health analytics
    • Health surveillance
    • Dashboard development
  • Proficiency with:
    • Tableau
    • SAS
    • SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG)
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience creating interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, maps, and executive-level reports.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable visual insights.
  • Current or ability to obtain HIPAA training for handling protected health information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing reports and presentations.
  • Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to performance.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting health analytics, public health surveillance, or healthcare performance reporting.
  • Experience working with Department of the Air Force (DAF), Department of Defense (DoD), or military health data.
