Role: Data Governance Architect
Location: Boston, MA
Job Summary:
The Data Governance Consultant is responsible for assessing, defining, and operationalizing enterprise data governance across multiple data domains. The role emphasizes governance frameworks, policies, operating models, and adoption-ensuring data is trusted, compliant, and consistently used across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Current State (As Is) Assessment
• Conduct a detailed as is assessment of the data landscape, covering:
o Data storage platforms (on prem, cloud, lakehouse, warehouse)
o Data ingestion and integration pipelines (batch, streaming, real time)
o Data processing frameworks and analytical workloads
o Data consumption patterns (BI, reporting, advanced analytics, AI/ML)
• Evaluate the current architecture against industry best practices and reference architectures in areas such as:
o Cloud native and lakehouse patterns
o Data mesh / domain oriented architectures
• Identify architectural gaps, technical debt, and design constraints.
2. Future State Architecture & Solution Design
• Define future state data architecture blueprints aligned to:
o Modern data platform best practices
o Cloud native and scalable design principles
o Analytics and AI enablement
• Propose technology agnostic and vendor aligned solutions based on prior experience with modern data architectures.
• Establish enterprise standards for:
o Data ingestion, modeling, storage, and access
o Data interoperability and integration
o Architectural patterns and reusable components
4. Roadmap & Capability Planning
• Drive the development of a long term data architecture roadmap, including:
o Target capabilities and architectural milestones
o Phased initiatives with sequencing and dependencies
o Modernization priorities aligned to business outcomes
• Partner with engineering teams to guide execution and ensure alignment to architectural intent.
5. Governance Alignment
• Collaborate with data governance and security teams to ensure:
o Architecture aligns with governance, privacy, and compliance requirements
o Governance controls are embedded into data platforms by design

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $158,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
