General Summary

Project Controls Specialist IV - Data Analytics & Reporting is an advanced technical specialist responsible for administering, improving, and standardizing project controls systems, processes, reporting, and documentation across large or complex projects. This corporate role partners with project teams, operations, corporate functions, and IT to ensure accurate data, effective controls, user support, and consistent process execution. In this specialization, the role focuses on building, maintaining, and governing project controls data models, dashboards, and reporting environments to improve decision-making and operational visibility.

Location of this position is flexible with the ability to work from various office location within Granite or remote.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Administer and maintain Power BI workspaces, dashboards, and reporting environments, including performance, usability, and security.

  • Collaborate with project controls teams to develop and optimize dashboards, trend analysis, predictive analytics, and decision-support reporting.

  • Work with IT to connect source systems, map APIs, and maintain data structures within the Operational Data Store (ODS).

  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata references, lineage documentation, and related BI governance artifacts.

  • Support development of stable construction project data models and ontology structures spanning cost, scheduling, procurement, risk, document control, BIM, and related domains.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational governance standards throughout BI development and reporting processes.

  • Develop and maintain process manual (containing Standard Operating Procedures and Process Narratives) to ensure consistent tracking of all in-process projects.

  • Lead report testing, validation, and internal documentation reviews prior to release.

  • Train users on dashboard interpretation, configuration, and best practices to encourage adoption and effective use.

  • Train regional and job-assigned project controls and construction professionals with walkthrough, demos, and training materials for how to configure and use dashboards.

  • May supervise, direct, and mentor project staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable discipline - or equivalent combination of training and experience


Work Experience

  • 7+ years' experience in a related position

  • Proven experience building PowerBI dashboards including relationships, DAX, intuitive/User-friendly information formats.

  • Experience in AEC sector, preferably construction, using data such as ACC, Primavera P6, and Job Cost systems.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Experience with JD Edwards / OneWorld (preferred).

  • Basic understanding of constructionindustry data workflows.

  • Familiarity with BIM and coordination tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D (conceptual understanding acceptable).

  • Working knowledge of data transformation and analytics tools including Power BI, DAX Studio, and SQL Server Management Studio.

  • Ability to write DAX formulas, Power Query (M) scripts, and SQL expressions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear information sharing.

  • Excellent problemsolving skills with reliable followthrough.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Selfstarter capable of independently structuring workload and seeking out resources.

  • Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels as well as external clients and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in highproduction environments and under tight deadlines.

Base Salary Range:

$111,123.00 - $166,683.00
