Job Description

This is Hybrid Position. The applicant is expected to work onsite.
Location; Brooklyn, NY 11201
Job Description:
The Senior Data Analyst with ETL Expertise shall provide Client Data Management team with technical expertise for the completion of Data Profiling/Cleansing, Conversion/Migration and Validation efforts as part of the Legacy Replacement initiative as well as Client ongoing process improvement programs.
Scope of Services:
The Senior Data Analyst with ETL Expertise will primarily be responsible for detailed field level analysis, metadata analysis, profiling, and mapping of VSAM files into relational/dimensional SQL tables as well as conversion/validation efforts as part of an enterprise-wide Legacy Replacement program.
The Senior Data Analyst will create and maintain the master data dictionary, and assist in database design of Client mission-critical applications and inventory of its components.

Mandatory Skills/Experience Data Analyst, SQL, ETL
Minimum of five (5) years of source-to-target data mapping experience in a mixed Mainframe and Relational Database environments.
Experience creating data dictionary documentation with business terms, valid values, and definitions.
Experience converting/migrating VSAM data to relational/dimensional SQL distributed databases.
Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience developing applications using IBM DataStage ETL.
Experience extracting field references and calculated data from COBOL programs.
Experience with BMC Control-M workload automation software.
Experience with GIT version control software.
Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience with Pension Administration systems.

Technical Ability Mandatory:
System Experience must have.
Strong SQL knowledge working with complex queries and stored procedures.
Proficiency in SSRS reports development.
Strong analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to receive and analyze requirements and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the team s methodology.
Ability to work in multiple environments: IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, and SQL Server.
Proficiency in mainframe applications encompassing COBOL, CICS and DB2.
Understanding of data structures and their relationship to ETL applications.
Ability to develop complex SQL data validations based on STTMs and target data Models.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and information gathering skills along with fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities. Desirable Skills/Experience
Experience extracting business rules from the existing legacy code.
Experience with Data Quality/Profiling tools.
Experience with Data Warehouses/Data Marts.
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Prior experience working in a pension system, preferably New York State or New York City pension system.
