The Manager, Data and Analytics, Retail Credit Risk, GRM will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on retail lending portfolios. The role also provides actionable insights to Risk Management teams, including Acquisition, Account Management, and Collections as well as business line partners. The role is highly technical and requires expert SAS/Python, data analytics, and Business Intelligence tools skills. The incumbent will deliver ongoing portfolio reporting and monitoring to senior management, as well as address ad-hoc data requests.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Use a variety of Business Intelligence analytical and reporting tools, such as SAS, Python, and Tableau, to provide dynamic reporting on key performance metrics to various stakeholders in GRM and business lines
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from executives and key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Perform required data pulls and reconciliations to answer questions. Prioritization and working on more than one request at a time is often required
  • Provide actionable insights and meaningful messages from the reporting to drive credit risk decisions
  • Collaborate with Acquisition, Account Management, and Collections teams to provide measurement and reporting on strategic initiatives such as acquisition dynamics and quality, line optimization, and collections effectiveness
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Using our data, continually develop and refine a more holistic customer view.
  • Annual limits definition and monitoring: strong experience in data modelling, data modelling concepts, and techniques for creating and maintaining data models and defining database structures while ensuring data integrity and quality
  • Leverage consumer data, performance, and behavioral trends to perform correlation analyses and build statistical models for annual limit setting
  • Ensure all business line strategic priorities, including life-cycle strategies, early warning triggers, and provisioning, are consistent with the Risk Appetite Framework
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of the respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk, including responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, and/or data engineering
  • Proficiency utilizing a variety of analytical tools including SAS, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, dBeaver, Excel and a solid knowledge and understanding of advanced analytical concepts and methodologies
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Must be creative, self-starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent analytical skills
  • The incumbent must have a good knowledge of the bank's lending products, including Credit Cards, Line of Credits, Mortgages, and Auto Loans, and should have familiarity with the Bank's Risk Management activities
  • A proven ability to extract and interpret data; transform it into meaningful and actionable business insights effectively and accurately
  • Strong analytical, project management, people management and relationship building skills
  • A strong sense of urgency and a proven ability to understand, and effectively assess multiple, ongoing requests
