Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking an experienced Data Analytics Process Lead to support data analytics initiatives for a utility customer experience organization.
This role will serve as the primary project manager and business liaison for analytics-related initiatives, working closely with program managers, IT, business stakeholders, and analytics resources. The ideal candidate has strong experience leading data-driven projects, gathering business requirements, supporting dashboard and reporting delivery, and translating business needs into practical analytics solutions.
This is a senior, business-facing role requiring a strong mix of project management, process improvement, stakeholder communication, and technical analytics experience. The work may include Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, data lake enhancements, executive reporting, business cases, and coordination across business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the project manager and primary point of contact for client's data analytics initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities across program management, IT, analytics teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of analytics projects, including dashboards, reporting solutions, and data lake-related initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, status reports, risk assessments, and executive-level communications.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings to gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, data requirements, and analytics development priorities.
  • Partner with program managers, process leads, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and analytics teams to support Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, data models, and data lake enhancements.
  • Ensure analytics solutions meet business objectives, usability expectations, and enterprise data governance standards.
  • Develop executive presentations, business cases, and communication materials that summarize project progress, findings, recommendations, business impacts, and analytics insights.
  • Build strong working relationships across business and technology organizations to support successful delivery.
  • Lead technical discussions, support analytics best practices, and provide oversight to analytics resources when needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in project management, business analysis, process improvement, data analytics, reporting, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and coordinating work among business stakeholders, IT teams, analytics teams, and external vendors.
  • Strong experience gathering business requirements, facilitating workshops, documenting processes, and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience leading or providing technical oversight to analytics resources.
  • Experience developing or supporting SQL solutions, data models, and ETL/ELT processes within enterprise data environments.
  • Experience with Power BI dashboards and reports, or equivalent business intelligence and data visualization solutions.
  • Experience working with large datasets, relational databases, and enterprise reporting environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services supporting data integration, data lake, analytics, or reporting solutions.
  • Experience using Python for analytics, automation, statistical modeling, or AI/ML solution development.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Program Lead, Analytics Project Manager, Business Analyst, or Business Process Lead for enterprise analytics initiatives.
  • Experience supporting customer experience, energy efficiency, utility operations, or other process-focused organizations.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, responsible AI practices, data warehousing, data lake architecture, and enterprise data management.
  • Experience developing business cases, investment justifications, executive reporting materials, and leadership presentations.
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, analytics resources, or cross-functional project teams.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $155,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting; actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, assignment requirements, schedule, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base compensation, the role includes a comprehensive benefits package and a company 401(k) match.
