Sales Data Analyst


About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-focused Sales Data Analyst to support sales strategy, revenue growth, and operational excellence through data-driven insights. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting sales and business data to help leaders make informed decisions, identify opportunities, improve customer targeting, and optimize performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with business acumen and can translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations through reporting, visualization, and storytelling.


Key Responsibilities

Analyze sales, customer, operational, and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers.

Develop dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Excel, and SQL.

Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations teams to deliver actionable business insights.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue growth, customer retention, pipeline velocity, conversion rates, and sales effectiveness.

Design and maintain recurring reports that support business planning and decision-making.

Perform data validation, cleansing, and auditing to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple systems to create reliable and scalable reporting solutions.

Conduct root cause analysis to identify business challenges and recommend process improvements.

Create compelling visual stories that clearly communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from leadership and business partners.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new metrics and measurement frameworks.

Continuously improve reporting processes, automation, and analytics capabilities.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, sales analytics, or a related analytical role.

Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel.

Experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.

Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts.

Experience analyzing large datasets and transforming data into actionable business insights.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot.

Experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, Talend, or similar platforms.
