Job Summary

This internship will provide direct support to the Electric Distribution Grid Resliency group. This is an exciting time for Dominion as the company is currently engaged in large-scale energy infrastructure construction projects along with multiple in-house projects supporting Dominion's existing power distribution and reliability.

This position provides real-life examples to assist the individual in understanding principles in data analysis, modeling and data science.

Gains skills related to Business Performance, Finance, Systems, Operations, and Engineering solutions. Learns entry level aspects of data governance, cataloging, data acquisition, data quality, data analysis, data interpretation, and interactive data visualizations. This includes support of business metadata, business rules, and influence remediation of data quality defects. Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to analyze business requirements, assist with the development of model strategies or solutions.  

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The position requires a solid understanding related to data driven performance technologies and tools, process, metrics and analytics. 

Intern should possess:

  • Solid skills commensurate with grade level
  • An inquisitive nature and curiosity
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures
  • Strong professional ethics
  • Oral and written communication skills, including technical writing
  • Planning, organizing, and project management skills
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to apply data analytics theories and concepts to industrial problems
Education Requirements
  • Student must be enrolled in 4-year degree program. Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems Technology or related field preferred. 
  • Students must have a graduation date of Spring 2028 or later. 
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or greater.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
