This intern will play an active role in both the Business Requirements Definition (BRD) phase and the build phase for several high-impact initiatives, including outsourcing management, service site capacity modeling, and customer-facing open order report standardization.
This role offers hands-on experience in translating business challenges into analytics solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams (supply chain, operations, and IT/data teams) to design, build, and validate reporting tools that drive operational performance.

Requirements & Analysis (BRD Phase)

  • Partner with supply chain and business stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements
  • Facilitate discussions to define KPIs, data definitions, and reporting needs for:
    • Outsourcing management visibility
    • Service site capacity modeling
    • Open order customer-facing reporting standardization
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured business requirements documents (BRDs)
  • Map current-state processes and identify gaps in data, reporting, and visibility

Reporting & Development (Build Phase)

  • Support the design and development of Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Assist in building data models, measures, and visualizations aligned to business requirements
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting outputs
  • Contribute to the creation of standardized, scalable reporting solutions for recurring supply chain needs

Data & Process Support

  • Work with datasets from multiple sources (ERP, operational systems, and manual inputs)
  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting (basic data wrangling in Excel/Power Query)
  • Support testing and iteration cycles for dashboards and reports
  • Document data sources, logic, and report usage guidelines

Project & Stakeholder Support

  • Participate in project team meetings and provide updates on deliverables
  • Support prioritization of reporting needs across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and usability of reporting tools
  • Assist in preparing presentations or summaries of insights for leadership review

Learning Objectives

  • Gain practical experience in supply chain analytics and BI development
  • Learn how to convert business problems into structured analytics solutions
  • Develop foundational skills in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard design)
  • Build understanding of supply chain processes such as outsourcing, capacity planning, and order management
  • Gain exposure to cross-functional stakeholder management in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with data and identify trends, inconsistencies, and insights
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic data manipulation)

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Power BI (or similar BI tools) strongly preferred
  • Exposure to SQL, data modeling, or basic coding concepts is a plus
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts (forecasting, capacity, order management, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to document requirements clearly
