Job description

Data Analyst

The Opportunity:

As a data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex datasets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support the mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to empower stakeholders to understand performance data, improve customer experiences, and optimize revenue outcomes.

As a client-facing data analyst on our client delivery team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on their organization.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical mindset to support client and stakeholder relationships, turning business questions into measurable metrics and dashboards.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, generating cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Apply strong communication skills and data analytics experience to simplify technical requirements and trends for non-technical audiences, including Senior Leadership.
  • Present findings and recommendations using your knowledge of databases and tools, and build narratives and visuals in PowerPoint.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and KPIs to drive technical outcomes, such as campaign performance, donor or customer segmentation, and portfolio expansion.
  • Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and slideware, and produce concise executive summaries that enable decisions.
  • Grow your communication and technical skills by creating data-centric solutions across various mission and customer industries, collaborating with client teams and business development.

Work with us to help drive large-scale business and process decisions through data insights.

Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing data to build KPIs, dashboards, and executive-ready insights in various business environments
  • Experience with using Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation, and with data storytelling for executive audiences
  • Ability to translate business questions into measurable metrics, partner directly with stakeholders, and communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience building analytical products from various data sources, including dashboards, cohort analysis, or renewal or expansion modeling
  • Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau, and basic SQL, Python, or R for data wrangling
  • Ability to design data collection workflows, codify KPIs, and build stakeholder-ready narratives that drive adoption of analytics
  • Master's degree in Analytics, Data Science, or Business Intelligence
  • Analytics, data science, or business intelligence certifications

Clearance:
