Position Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Data Analyst – Power Platform Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as a strategic analytics partner within the finance organization, responsible for transforming complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that support executive decision-making. This role bridges financial analysis, business intelligence, and data architecture to identify trends, forecast performance, and guide strategic planning. The analyst will design scalable data models, develop advanced analytics, and deliver executive-level insights through the Microsoft Power Platform. In addition to building dashboards, this role will interpret financial data, evaluate business performance, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve financial outcomes across the organization.

This role will also impact the financial outcomes by assisting leaders across the organization with identifying efficiencies that could be realized through automation and working with them to build these automations. A mindset of continuous improvement is required.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Analyze financial and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and performance drivers. Design and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and analytical models that translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership.
  • Automation & Optimization: Leverage Power Automate and Power Apps to streamline data collection, eliminate manual tasks, and build lightweight, automated data-driven solutions.
  • Data Reconciliation & Integrity: Perform complex financial data reconciliation and validation, using Power BI and Dataverse to ensure 100% accuracy in financial reporting.
  • ETL Processes: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources using Power Query.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to define key performance indicators, evaluate financial performance, and translate complex financial data into strategic insights that support business planning and decision-making.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced analytical techniques using DAX, SQL, Python, or R to perform financial modeling, segmentation analysis, forecasting, and scenario evaluation. Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue improvement, and operational efficiency through data-driven analysis.
  • Maintain a safe working environment. 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. 
Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, specifically focused on financial reporting, MIS, or accounting data is required.
  • Power Platform Proficiency: Proven, hands-on experience in building complex Power BI dashboards and reports is required.
  • Automation Experience: Experience using Power Automate for workflow automation and Power Apps for developing business applications is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Power Pivot, macros) and working knowledge of SQL is required.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources to deliver actionable insights is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical data into business insights is required.
  • Microsoft Certification (e.g., PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, PL-500: Power Automate RPA Developer) is desired.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory or Azure SQL is desired.
  • Understanding of GAAP or federal financial management standards is desired.
