Job Description
Client is seeking an AWS, Python, and SQL Lead Developer to spearhead cloud-driven digital transformation initiatives within a global delivery model. You will design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud and data solutions using AWS services, Python programming, and advanced SQL. This role involves researching emerging technologies, collaborating with stakeholders, and championing engineering excellence throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end design and development of cloud-native applications and data pipelines leveraging AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Glue, API Gateway, Redshift, and Step Functions
  • Build robust Python applications, automation frameworks, and data processing solutions supporting analytics, orchestration, and serverless workloads.
  • Develop, tune, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL/ELT jobs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement scalable data ingestion and transformation solutions using AWS native tools and industry-standard best practices.
  • Participate in end-to-end implementation cycles using technologies like AWS Redshift and Informatica, including data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and consumption layers.
  • Create automation and data processing scripts using Unix shell scripting, Python, and SQL to support operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into secure, scalable technical designs.
  • Promote engineering standards, governance, and cloud security best practices across the team.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to a high-performance global engineering team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Houston, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience
  • At least 3 years of AWS experience
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL, Unix shell scripting, and Python
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in diverse, multi-stakeholder business and technology teams
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in a global delivery environment
  • Experience in Retail and Food distribution domain
  • Experience with AWS serverless components like Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch
  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, SQL, and integrations
  • Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, VPC design, encryption, and governance
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or similar tools
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker, ECS, or EKS
  • API development experience using Flask, FastAPI, or AWS API Gateway
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance frameworks
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, Data Analytics) are desirable.
