Job Description
The Engineering Technician / Petroleum Data Analyst is responsible for supporting engineering, well servicing, drilling, completions, and production operations through advanced data management, reporting, analytics, and process improvement initiatives. This role serves as a key resource for data governance, reporting optimization, dashboard development, and operational performance analysis.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, IT, and leadership teams to ensure data accuracy, improve reporting capabilities, automate workflows, and provide actionable insights that support operational and business decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise with reporting and database tools, and the ability to serve as a subject matter expert for data systems and reporting platforms.
Responsibilities
Data Management & Governance
  • Support data governance initiatives to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of operational and production data.
  • Monitor and maintain data quality across multiple systems and databases.
  • Develop and maintain data validation, QA/QC, and integrity management processes.
  • Generate exception reports to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and integrity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues impacting business operations and reporting.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Build and optimize reporting solutions to improve accessibility, usability, and performance of operational data.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, performance indicators, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and operational summaries for management and executive leadership.
  • Support business analysis and decision-making through data-driven insights.

Database & System Support
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Support integration of data from multiple operational and enterprise systems.
