Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Data Analyst (Python) for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in New York, NY.
The Data Analyst prepares department statistical reports, conducts ad hoc reporting, assists staff with department computer applications and completes special projects.
Responsibilities :
  • Reviews and analyzes the monthly statistical reports to identify areas that require follow up and makes recommendations to the Assistant Director.
  • Reviews specified reports and takes appropriate action to comply with department procedures.
  • Develops miscellaneous ad hoc reports requested by staff and other groups. Development of these reports requires strong analytical ability and business knowledge as well as understanding the computer applications.
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets, databases, graphs, and charts.
  • Fields questions and concern from staff and other departments regarding the internal computer systems , resolving issues or reporting the issues/concerns to the appropriate place. This often requires interaction with mid-level management.
  • Completes all assigned special projects relating to the technology environment. Typical projects would be the coordination of office moves, inventory validation, desktop upgrades, etc.
  • Ensures all assigned activities and tasks are completed according to prescribed policies and standards.
  • Provides reports on the status of assigned tasks or projects.
  • Continuously works to ensure that knowledge of applicable business activities is current.
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent and two years experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Competence with the use of a desktop computer.
  • Strong analytical, observation, documentation and customer service skills.
