Job Summary:
The Weitz Company is a full-service construction company that is hiring a Project Controls Data Analyst to join their Operational Excellent team. This role focuses on developing and administering dashboards and analytics to support cost management, quality, safety, and risk management across construction operations.
Responsibilities:
โข Design, build, and maintain interactive and scalable dashboards and reports, applying best practices in data visualization and user experience to deliver clear insights into project performance, cost, schedule and risk areas key stakeholders
โข Integrate data from multiple sources (i.e. Databricks, Azure, P6, internal cost systems) to create a unified data model for reporting and analytics
โข Ensure end-to-end data pipelines accuracy and reliability of reporting
โข Provide data visualization to provide an expansive overview of integrated data
โข Create and update project control reports that highlight key performance indicators, trends, and risk factors for active construction projects
โข Collaborate closely with project controls teams to incorporate scheduling data into dashboards, providing visualizations of project timelines, milestones, and critical paths
โข Support cost management efforts by integrating budget, forecast, and actual cost data into BI reports, enabling real-time tracking of project financials
โข Identify and resolve issues in data pipelines, dashboard performance, and/or data accuracy, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable reporting
โข Refine dashboards based on user feedback, emerging best practices and evolving market trends
โข Work closely with project teams, IT, and OpEx team to understand reporting needs and ensure dashboards align with project goals
โข Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to help end-users interpret and apply dashboard insights effectively
Qualifications:
Required:
โข 5+ years of data analytics experience required
โข 3+ years of experience in a construction-related or project controls environment is a plus
โข Bachelorโs degree in data analytics, construction management, information systems, or related field; an equivalent combination of technical training and certifications may be considered
โข Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights related to construction scheduling and cost control
โข Ability to convey/explain complex technical concepts in a way that other stakeholders can easily understand
โข Desire to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
โข Ability to troubleshoot data issues, optimize reporting processes, and ensure alignment with the company and industry project controls standards
โข Strong data visualization skills
โข Ability to build interactive and scalable dashboards
โข Excellent written and verbal communication skills
โข High level of proficiency in PowerBI/Tableau, SQL, DAX, M-code, and cloud-based data integration tools i.e. Databricks, Azure) is required
โข Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
โข Must be able to work onsite from a Weitz office location (this is not a remote role)

โข Knowledge of Lean principles desired
โข Ability to learn additional specific job-related software upon hire
