Job Summary

The WebstaurantStore is the leading e-commerce website to meet the purchasing needs of the food service industry worldwide. WebstaurantStore, a Clark Associates company, is looking for proactive, detail-oriented candidates to join our growing company as a Logistics Data Analyst Intern for the Summer of 2027. This role focuses on problem-solving and process improvement and is a key part of growing our business.   

The Outbound Transportation Team, a subdivision of our Logistics Department, focuses on strengthening the outbound transportation link in the supply chain through cost optimization, efficient processes, and a focus on the customer experience.    

The Data Analytics team within Outbound Transportation serves to drive decision-making throughout the department and company by an effective use of both data and business analysis. The team fosters collaboration and aims to also empower our stakeholders through focused reporting and by promoting continuous education. Our goal is to optimize processes and empower others to make data-driven decisions. The team focuses on innovating through creative solutions, transparent and quality data in a timely manner that outpaces the needs of the business. 

Responsibilities

 As a Logistics Data Intern, you will:   

  • Establish new systems and processes as needed for the tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis of outbound transportation and operational practices  
  • Identify areas for potential financial savings within our supply chain via analysis of available data and implement strategies to realize cost reduction 
  • Design and run reports to provide valuable insights to the company 
  • Collaborate with other teams to complete cross-departmental projects  
  • Complete other special projects as assigned  
  • Complete a presentation outlining your projects, contributions, and feedback at the end of the program
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, or visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, R, Snowflake, or similar analytical tools and technologies to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, automate tasks, and enhance analysis.
  • Ability to use data and analysis to identify opportunities and support business recommendations.
  • Ability to connect data insights to real-world operational processes and business outcomes (Look behind the numbers).
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program - Any major welcome
