Job Summary
A Research Assistant position is available in the Memory and Concepts Laboratory within the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences under the direction of Dr. Alexa Tompary.
The Research Assistant will have the opportunity to conduct independent and supervised research projects in service of the lab's funded research topics relating to long-term memory and concept knowledge. Specifically, this involves recruitment and data collection for behavioral experiments with healthy human adults. The applicant will also assist with stimulus development and data analysis.
The Research Assistant will work closely with Dr. Tompary and will have the opportunity to learn the fundamental principles of experimental design and statistical analysis in cognitive neuroscience.
This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.
Essential Functions
  • Implement advertisement/recruitment plans for research study participants
  • Schedule and administer behavioral experiments; coordinate participant payments
  • Assist with stimulus development and data coding

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree

This is a Part-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
