FP&A Manager

The FP&A Manager leads the organization's budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes. This role acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing actionable insights, financial models, and reports that drive corporate strategy and resource allocation. You will translate complex financial data into a cohesive narrative to help executives make data-driven investment and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Annual Budgeting: Own and orchestrate the company-wide annual operating budget process.

  • Rolling Forecasts: Maintain and update monthly or quarterly rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.

  • Long-Range Planning: Develop multi-year strategic financial models to assess the company's long-term growth trajectory.

Reporting & Variance Analysis

  • Management Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for executives, the Board of Directors, and investors.

  • Performance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis comparing actual financial results against budget and forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities.

  • KPI Tracking: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the industry (e.g., bookings, sales, backlog, EBITDA, SG&A efficiency, headcount tracking, operational metrics, etc.).

  • Variance & Trend Analysis: Conduct deep-dive evaluations of price, volume, product mix, inflation, productivity, and manufacturing costs (materials, labor, and overhead).

Strategic Partnering & Decision Support

  • Business Partnering: Work closely with department heads (Sales, Marketing, HR, Product, IT, Finance, etc.) to manage their budgets and support their growth initiatives.

  • Scenario Modeling: Build complex financial models to evaluate business cases, capital expenditures (CapEx), M&A opportunities, or pricing strategies.

  • ROI Evaluation: Analyze the financial return on strategic projects to optimize capital allocation.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Tool Optimization: Manage and optimize FP&A software, ERP systems, and business intelligence (BI) tools.

  • Process Automation: Continuously streamline financial planning processes, reducing cycle times and eliminating manual data entry.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. An MBA, CFA, CPA or CMA is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, business unit finance, or manufacturing cost accounting. Operational manufacturing finance experience is strongly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel mastery (financial modeling, macros, complex formulas) and experience with corporate performance management (CPM) tools like Oracle Enterprise Performance Management or similar applications alongside BI tools (Power BI or similar tools). Impeccable attention to detail is required.

  • Soft Skills: Strong executive presence, excellent storytelling abilities to present numbers to non-financial leaders, and sharp problem-solving capabilities.
