Job description

Position Summary:
Coordinates fuel pricing at Circle K retail gas stations by collecting information, determining prices, and communicating prices in accordance with Circle K pricing strategies.
Optimize the profitability of retail fuel sales for assigned stores and markets through the development of effective pricing strategies, comprehensive data analytics, and staying apprised of supply and demand influencers. Provide pricing directives to stores and field management personnel with thorough supporting data.
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for setting, maintaining, and monitoring prices for our company's products and services. This position requires a combination of strong analytical skills, and business acumen.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with wide variety of stakeholders across operations, marketing, and IT on day-to-day execution, training and integrations, and improvement opportunities.
Identify opportunities to improve existing pricing strategies by analyzing movements in sales and margins across markets, monitoring competitor activity, and measuring impacts on the business units network.
Develop and implement tools and processes to improve pricing execution (i.e., information collection, price determination and communication) and performance optimization (i.e., data management and analysis).
Enhances pricing execution capability through development of re-usable processes and tools, improving its efficiency, accuracy, and analytics.
Strong team orientation. Able to work with a diverse team based in a field and corporate environment, while working autonomously on a day-to-day tasks and special projects/initiatives.
Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
Conduct daily pricing evaluations for sites to ensure optimal profitability • Recommend new and enhanced strategies for each site.
Develop and execute pricing strategies consistent with achieving performance metrics
Engage with other departments as needed to provide insight into market level performance and forecasts
Conduct tactical analysis using large data sets to better understand performance trends, mitigate risks, identify threats, and realize opportunities. Stay informed on market conditions
Track strategy initiatives to oversee success measures week over week; evaluate KPI's & document successes
Effectively communicate with store, field personnel, and management with a sense of urgency. Provide financial recaps with insights on a weekly basis
Ability to troubleshoot integration issues, interface with fuel techs and store employees to identify system integration issues/solutions with minimal oversight. Proactively seek issues.
Oversee data integrity of the fuel pricing systems.
Practice healthy level of debate within the team to drive new approaches, anchored in data analysis.
Data Analysis: Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outliers. Use statistical methods and data visualization techniques to extract meaningful insights from the data.
Reporting and Visualization: Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present data-driven insights to key stakeholders. Utilizing tools such as Excel, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms to communicate complex data in an easily understandable format.
Data Validation and Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and integrity by conducting quality checks, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and implementing necessary corrective measures. Collaborate with the data team to maintain data standards and improve the data quality process.
Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a data-driven decision-making process. Assist in conducting research, developing analytical models, and providing recommendations based on the data analysis results.
Data-driven insights: Assist in analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and operational metrics to provide actionable insights. Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization based on data findings.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of the data analysis process, methodologies, and findings. Prepare clear and concise summaries and presentations to share with team members.
Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements in data analysis techniques, and emerging tools and technologies. Actively seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in data analysis.
Supports total BU Fuel Support Team with on call coverage to ensure store support needs are met everyday. This includes rotating weekend and holiday support.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, accounting or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with knowledge to develop and use other software tools.
  • Limited travel requiring occasional overnight stays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc.) SQL, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI knowledge a plus.
  • Petroleum industry knowledge; Understanding of convenience store industry.
  • Strong analytical decision-making abilities with highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
