  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all PI administrative tasks, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of the historian environment.
  • Act as the first point of contact for site personnel and ROC Analysts to resolve PI issues, including non-functional data points, Asset Framework questions, and data access requests.
  • Access, integrate, and present data from multiple sources such as SCADA systems, Excel, and other data platforms using effective data management techniques.
  • Develop tools, reports, notifications, calculated points, event frames, and related PI-based solutions to support operational and analytical needs.

  • Troubleshoot communications and system issues associated with plant controls, the historian, and communication components.
  • Support the addition of new sites and site data into the PI system, including configuration and integration activities.
  • Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, planning work effectively and prioritizing issues that require immediate attention versus those that can be addressed over time.
  • Collaborate and interface with ROC, M&D, Renewable Operations, Commercial Optimization, site personnel, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Ensure a high standard of data quality across all historical and analytics systems, implementing best practices and controls.
  • Use scripting languages and other methods to extract data from various sources for analysis and reporting.
  • Stay current on relevant industry trends and technology developments related to data historians, analytics, and operational technology.
  • Produce business cases to justify financial investment decisions, technology tools, and system upgrades related to the PI environment and associated systems.

  • Build strong working relationships and act as a team player in cross-functional initiatives and projects.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience as a System Administrator for OSIsoft PI data historian, including Asset Framework (AF), preferably in an electric generating facility or other operational environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using OSIsoft PI and Asset Framework (AF).
  • Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, and present data from multiple sources such as SCADA and Excel.
  • Proficiency in the use of scripting languages (for example, Python) and other methods for extracting data from various sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and other productivity applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues in support of historian and related systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting communications and system issues associated with plant controls, historian, and communication components.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning and prioritization.
  • Ability to make timely decisions, apply seasoned judgment, and demonstrate personal responsibility.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically when solving problems and designing solutions.
  • Accountability for ensuring a high standard of data quality in historical and analytics systems.

  • Commitment to staying current on industry trends and technology developments relevant to data historians and analytics.
