We are looking for a visionary Global Head of Data Acquisition who is Collaborative, Curious, and Care focused to join our Integrated Insights, Patient Evidence team, based at our headquarter in Atlanta, GA, or Raleigh, NC. This hybrid position requires 40% onsite presence.
About the role
This is an opportunity to shape UCB's enterprise-wide data acquisition strategy and ensure the right healthcare data is available to support key decisions across the lifecycle of our medicines.
The role combines strategic leadership, healthcare data expertise, and stakeholder influence to maximize the value of UCB's data investments and strengthen our understanding of patient needs. A key focus will be building a scalable capability that enables data-driven decision-making across development and commercialization.
Who you will work with
You will collaborate across Development, Medical, Real-World Evidence, Commercial, Integrated Insights, the Global Data Office, and Digital Technology teams. Partnerships with Procurement, Finance, and external data providers will be essential to ensure data assets are fit-for-purpose, compliant, and aligned with business priorities.
What you will do
• Define and execute a global data acquisition strategy across therapeutic areas and portfolio priorities
• Shape the vision, operating model, and roadmap for the Data Acquisition capability
• Lead and develop a team of specialists focused on data strategy, partnerships, and enablement
• Identify, evaluate, and leverage innovative healthcare data sources across global markets, particularly in the US and Europe
• Translate business and scientific questions into clear data requirements and acquisition plans
• Support key decisions across the molecule lifecycle, from development through commercialization
• Drive adoption of centralized data assets and promote efficient, enterprise-wide data usage
• Influence senior stakeholders to align on data priorities, investments, and governance
• Build strategic relationships with external data partners and maintain a strong understanding of the evolving healthcare data landscape
• Promote understanding of the value and limitations of healthcare data to support informed decision-making across the organization
Interested?
For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline
• 12+ years of experience in healthcare data acquisition, real-world evidence, healthcare analytics, or data strategy
• Strong understanding of patient-level healthcare data, including claims, electronic health records, imaging, and other real-world data assets
• Experience evaluating and acquiring healthcare data across multiple geographies, particularly the US and Europe
• Understanding of the key business and evidence-generation needs across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle
• Experience leading teams and driving strategic initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments
• Ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements and actionable strategies
• Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to explain data value and limitations to diverse stakeholders
• Ability to drive organizational change and encourage adoption of centralized data capabilities
• Proven ability to build alignment with senior stakeholders and contribute to enterprise-wide strategy
