Freelance Data Labeling Analyst information

What is a freelance data labeling analyst?

A Freelance Data Labeling Analyst is a professional who works independently to tag, categorize, or annotate data—such as images, texts, or audio—to help train machine learning models. These analysts play a crucial role in ensuring that artificial intelligence systems receive accurate and high-quality training data. Their work typically involves reviewing raw data and applying specific labels according to established guidelines. Freelance analysts can work remotely for various clients, often via online platforms or data annotation companies. This job requires attention to detail, consistency, and sometimes domain-specific knowledge.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance data labeling analyst?

To thrive as a Freelance Data Labeling Analyst, you need strong attention to detail, data literacy, and a solid understanding of data annotation standards, often supported by a background in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with data labeling platforms, annotation tools like Labelbox or Supervisely, and sometimes knowledge of Python or SQL is valuable. Diligence, self-motivation, and the ability to follow complex guidelines set apart top analysts in this role. These skills ensure accurate, high-quality labeled datasets that are crucial for effective machine learning model training.

IT Data Analyst

Full-time Regular Warner Robins, GA, US

13 days ago Requisition ID: 1016

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

We are seeking a practical, detail-oriented IT Data Analyst to strengthen how our business uses data across Microsoft Dynamics products and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role blends hands‑on analytics, report development, data quality improvement, and data security implementation. The right candidate can turn operational, inventory, and supply‑chain data into clear business insight while helping ensure sensitive information is properly classified, governed, protected, and retained.

What You Will Do
  • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze data from Microsoft Dynamics products, with Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management / Finance & Operations experience preferred.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and supporting data flows for Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, Procurement, Warehouse, and other business teams.
  • Partner with managers and subject‑matter experts and others to define reporting needs and turn business questions into reliable data solutions.
  • Design, document, and support data models that are scalable, accurate, and easy for business users to understand.
  • Identify data quality gaps, investigate root causes, recommend improvements, and help maintain trusted data sources.
  • Document reporting logic, data lineage, recurring processes, security configurations, and support procedures.
Data Security & Governance Responsibilities
  • Support Microsoft 365 data security controls, including sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention policies, access reviews, retention settings, audit capabilities, eDiscovery support, and Microsoft Purview features.
  • Help classify business data based on sensitivity, business value, retention needs, and access requirements.
  • Assist with security architecture decisions for data storage, sharing, reporting, and collaboration across Microsoft 365, Dynamics, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and related platforms.
  • Review access patterns and permission structures to help ensure data is available to the right people without overexposing sensitive information.
  • Contribute to governance standards for reporting datasets, document libraries, secure collaboration spaces, and business‑critical data sources.
Required Qualifications
  • Professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role working with ERP, operational, inventory, or supply‑chain data.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics products; Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management / Finance & Operations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong Power BI skills, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report design, and performance‑conscious dataset development.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases or structured business data is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, DLP, information protection, audit, retention, and eDiscovery concepts.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality, and business usability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-300, MB-920, SC-400, SC-200, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or similar cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Azure Logic Apps, or other workflow automation tools.
  • Knowledge of finance, inventory, procurement, warehouse, manufacturing, or supply‑chain processes in a production environment.
  • Understanding of data privacy, records retention, information security best practices, and regulatory considerations such as GDPR where applicable.
What Success Looks Like
  • Business users trust the reports because the data is accurate, well‑defined, and consistently maintained.
  • Leaders have better visibility into operational, inventory, and supply‑chain performance.
  • Sensitive data is easier to identify, protect, govern, and retain across Microsoft 365 and Dynamics‑related environments.
  • Reporting and data security processes are documented well enough to support continuity, auditability, and future growth.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with modern Microsoft cloud, analytics, ERP, and security technologies.
  • A collaborative environment where IT, operations, finance, and business teams work closely together.
  • Room for professional growth in data analytics, business intelligence, data governance, and security architecture.
  • Flexible working arrangements, subject to business needs and company policy.
