Overview

Join a dynamic team focused on modernizing digital interfaces and improving user experiences for mission-critical applications within the Department of Defense. As a Creative Web Designer, you will develop visually compelling, accessible, and functional web and digital assets that align with agency branding, usability standards, and responsive design principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user-centric web pages, dashboards, and digital products for both desktop and mobile
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility and DoD UI/UX guidelines
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and analysts to implement front-end solutions
  • Maintain and enhance existing websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and content management systems (CMS)
  • Support content layout, branding updates, iconography, and information architecture improvements
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to refine design effectiveness
  • Create visual assets for presentations, dashboards, and communication materials
  • Participate in Agile development cycles and change control processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining websites and digital interfaces
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
  • Experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or XD
  • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and WCAG accessibility standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security+, Network+ or A+ Certification
  • Familiarity with DoD branding, portals, or enterprise SharePoint design
  • Knowledge of user research, usability testing, and iterative design methodology
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
