Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Global Device Manufacturing & Technology, this role will support the engineering and commercial teams within the Device network in West. This role is responsible for the coordination of the technical RFQ (Request for Quotation) and Development Agreement process within the global engineering functions (Manufacturing Assembly Automation & Injection Moulding). This role will have functional responsibility for compiling the manufacturing strategy and costs associated with the RFQs and Internal DAs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading key activities within the Global Device Engineering Group specifically related to the quotation of commercial bids and development agreements.  
  • Work with internal stakeholders across global sites to understand customer & business needs and translate to technical outputs and costs.
  • Identifying deliverables, time and cost, setting priorities and reporting to meet the needs of the business and the customer.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of commercial bids within the engineering function for new business within existing and new accounts, including coordinating cross functional teams in support of this process.
  • Establish relationships with equipment suppliers in pursuit of new business, product development, manufacturing process development, continuous improvement, and on-going business development.
  • Manage equipment suppliers during the RFQ phase to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Represent Global Engineering where applicable at customer meetings to ensure that the needs of the business are met.
  • Ensure that the procedures and systems are in place to facilitate the introduction of new processes and equipment.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering or Science field required
  • Master's Degree In Engineering or Science field preferred
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Engineering (preferably a concentration in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Tooling Engineering) and at least 3 - 5 years' experience in technical role.
  • A background or knowledge of Injection mould tooling and design and general moulding systems would be an advantage.
  • Have a good understanding of operational processes.
  • Have a good understanding of business development and the ability to interpret customer requirements.
  • Have excellent knowledge of manufacturing automation, injection moulding, machine design, development, and validation processes.
  • Must have good working understanding of manufacturing processes, Inc. automation from Low Volume to High Volume.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Preferably worked in either the medical, packaging or technological industries with a good understanding of the regulatory requirements including working knowledge of ISO 13485; EU GMP, CFR Part 820.
  • Have the ability to work with customers.
  • Must have strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Have a good understanding of resource requirements to implement project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks; must be detail orientated and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work independently on own projects while working concurrently with all departments / sites and levels of employees.
  • Must maintain the ability to work well with others in a variety of situations.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to make independent and sound judgments based on facts.
  • Analytically minded with strong problem-solving skills.

30%: Up to 78 business days per year
Physical Requirements
