Job description

About the Position Responsible for maintaining, building and or replacing county signs as needed. Responsible for hand rostered wood signs, nameplates, street signs, mailboxes, street address post and fence posts. Works on county vehicles.

Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Job Duties Responsible for Dare County signage, wood signs, street signs and etc. Repairs damages done by Dare County vehicles.

Transports county voting equipment and securing it. Responsible for carpentry, concrete work, moving furniture, painting, maintenance and plumbing work. Performs other assigned duties.

Position Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Dare County operations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.

Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing. Skill in the use of various types of office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, document scanner, multi-line telephone system, etc.). Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the public. Education, Experience and Supplemental Information High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
