Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including, packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance and stationary engineering
  2. Ensuring regulatory compliance re: health & safety, and environmental standards
  3. Working with outside engineering & technical services as needed
  4. Build the Maintenance team’s technical & functional capabilities
  5. Assume total responsibility for the Maintenance Department budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability
  6. Strategic development of the maintenance department to a best-in-class level
  7. Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies.
  8. Support teamwork between Maintenance and other O&H Danish Bakery departments.
  9. Actively participates in the daily production meeting as a key component of the operating team (as needed)
  10. Procurement process (vendor selection, ordering, receiving) up to $10,000
  11. Discipline – Safety and Regulatory protocol
  12. Discipline - Non safety - Final Approvals
  13. Creating  Performance Appraisals for direct reports
  14. Delivering Performance Appraisals for direct reports as needed
  15. Approve Hiring Decisions
  16. Contract signing
  17. Shutdown scheduling
  18. Other duties maybe assigned by Leadership

Knowledge and Skill

  • Experienced in a Management capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as the concepts of Best in Class Maintenance and Process Control
  • Strong emphasis on developing others capabilities.  Enjoys working with others and sees team work as a more productive environment. Can recognize others achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels through excellent active listening skills, communication and facilitation skills
  • High degree of computer & systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with 5S and Lean Practices
  • A builder and strong leader, committed to improving operating efficiencies through effective PM / PDM
  • An effective team player with a good sense of priorities, able to manage well under pressure with a proven track record in managing people
  • Experience managing budget, planning and strong communications skills
