Position Summary:

This position provides mental health interventions to clients who require individual community based rehabilitative services and/or group rehabilitative services to maximize the reduction of symptoms of mental illness to restore clients to the highest level of functioning. This position consults with Dani's Place treatment team to provide the best possible clinical services for clients.

Key Responsibilities and Role Highlights:

  • Provides client care, including assessments, medications, vaccinations, referrals, and treatment plan implementation
  • Maintains accurate documentation, progress notes, and confidentiality of client and program information
  • Delivers health education, staff training, and supports professional development
  • Organizes Med Room and manages medical supplies
  • Responds to emergencies and provides first aid as needed
  • Acts as liaison between physicians, caregivers, and clients for coordinated care
  • Participates in team meetings, supervision, training, and ensures compliance with policies and licensure requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Requires an associate degree in nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Required CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Required BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one-year clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. Previous psychiatric experience is preferred.
  • This position requires current RN license from the State of Ohio. Certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.
  • Must be able to assume call on a rotating basis and work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays as team maintains 24-hour responsibility for client care.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile individuals.
  • Must be able to work independently and make independent decisions when situations warrant such action.
