The Impact You'll Make

Complete material transitions and maintain inventory accuracy by skillfully using electronic and administrative tools. Move, store, retrieve, load, unload, and/or stack products and materials using manual or mechanized (forklift-type) material handling equipment.

This is a night shift position, working 8:00 pm to 6:00 am, Monday through Thursday.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Efficiently and safely perform a variety of material handling activities including loading/unloading freight, stacking and moving palletized and non-palletized materials throughout, within and outside the facility, either manually or with the use of any type of manual or mechanized material handling equipment in use at the facility.*

  • Store/retrieve products and materials to/from vertical storage racks or stands, pallet lifters, tilters, floor, etc.*

  • Move and/or deliver products and materials to manufacturing, assembly or storage locations throughout the plant to ensure correct materials are located at the right place at the right time.*

  • Maintain accurate paperwork, audit for correct part numbers and quantities, and perform related PC data entry/ retrieval transactions. This includes making necessary data entry transactions into PC perpetual inventory systems (i.e. SAP) for all items moved.*

  • Perform minor and preventative maintenance on material handling equipment as required.*

  • Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant goals.*

  • Perform housekeeping duties on each shift along with provisional standards meeting 5-S requirements. *

  • Perform tasks as necessary to meet Danfoss Lean System requirements.*

  • Perform procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the Danfoss Safety Process and ensure the personal safety of the incumbent including eye safety, hearing conservation, machine safety guards, ergonomic movement, lock out/tag out, SDS procedures, and OHSA regulations. *

  • Perform other related duties and activities as requested by Supervisor.*

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED

• One (1) year of verifiable experience as a Materials Handler

• Must have previous forklift experience and a prior history of satisfactory operation of mechanized material handling forklift-type equipment.

Position Criteria

• Demonstrated basic computer data entry skills and proficient in Microsoft Suite and Outlook applications

• Demonstrated skills in data entry, building & manipulating spreadsheets and working with databases (i.e. Oracle, MFG Pro, etc.)

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task while performing self-directed work with a minimum of supervision.

• Demonstrated ability to interact positively with other employees in a team oriented environment.

• Must have willingness and ability to complete and pass the Danfoss-Shawnee forklift training/licensing course (for all equipment used within the Shawnee facility) within first day in this classification.

• Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push and pull 50 to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to carry at least 50 feet.*

• Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach and use ladder up to eight (8) hours a day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day.*

• Vision to accurately read all necessary labels, production documents and computer monitor screens.*
