Job description

TITLE: Marketing & Audience Development Coordinator
STATUS: Full-Time, Year-Round 
LOCATION:  In-Person or Hybrid; must live within 1 to 2-hour driving distance of Jacob’s Pillow. Regular on-site presence is required year-round to support programming across all seasons - Including Fall and Spring programming - and intensifies to daily in-person work during the Festival season (June-August).
REPORTS TO: Digital Marketing Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing 
WORKS WITH: Marketing colleagues, Patron Services team, Community Engagement team, The School team, Archives team 
COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $60,000 (Grade 2 Level). Onsite room and board (three meals/day) provided upon summer arrival through August . 
BENEFITS:  Health, vision and dental insurance, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, 403b, Annual retirement employer contribution, paid time off,  life insurance, short- and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program. 
HOURS:  The schedule fluctuates year-round and may require night and weekend hours and travel, including in support of Fall and Spring programming. The Festival season (June–August) operates on a six-day schedule; if a sixth day of work is required, it is compensated with equivalent comp time before the end of the Festival season. 
SUMMER ONLY:   Three meals a day, free access to classes, performances, talks, and studio space (pending availability).
Jacob’s Pillow seeks a Marketing & Audience Development Coordinator to join the Marketing Department and work closely with/report directly to the Digital Marketing Manager. This position is entrusted with developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns for both free and paid events, as well as building strong relationships with local and regional community members and organizations, and serving as the Marketing department’s internal liaison to Community Engagement, Public Programs, and The School at Jacob’s Pillow) on year-round projects and initiatives. 
Remote work is possible for this position from September into May. From mid-May through August, this position requires full-time in-person summer working hours during the annual Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, Massachusetts, with onsite room and board provided by Jacob’s Pillow. 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
Marketing & Audience Development  
  • Executes Marketing needs for community engagement, Public Programs, and educational programs, with direction from Digital Marketing Manager. 
  • Support the Marketing department in research to help reach new audiences through new advertising, listing, and marketing opportunities for all programs. 
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Digital Marketing Manager to connect and develop outreach strategies across departments. Assist with compiling and synthesizing existing resources, contributing new ideas, and collaborating on audience growth and revenue goals. 
  • Collaborate with the Patron Services team to align and build relationships and ticketing strategies to support audience engagement goals. 
  • Create and cultivate partnerships with local organizations, affinity groups, and transportation opportunities to support the development of new audiences both on and off campus. When possible, represent Jacob’s Pillow at promotional events, select conferences, trade shows, and networking events within the local and regional community. 
  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing Department with website strategies, general edits and additions, and email campaign creation for a variety of Jacob’s Pillow in-person and online programming and general needs. 
Marketing for Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager on marketing strategy for the Community Engagement department’s online and in-person programs.
  • Execute website strategies and edits for Community Engagement programs.
  • Execute email campaign creation for Community Engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Patron Services and the Community Engagement department to oversee the Tessitura build for registration for community offerings.
  • Execute public-facing registration build on Tessitura Network Web Express platform (TNEW) for community offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager for organic social media strategy and content creation for community offerings.
  • Collaborate across the Marketing department to align storytelling and content messaging and distribution for community offerings  in support of building and growing engagement with Jacob’s Pillow’s programs. 
Marketing for The School at Jacob’s Pillow
  • Collaborate on marketing strategy and execution for The School at Jacob’s Pillow online and in-person education programs
  • Execute website strategies and edits for The School at Jacob’s Pillow programs
  • Execute email campaign creation for The School at Jacob’s Pillow annual recruitment, application cycle, and outreach.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Patron Services and The School to oversee the Tessitura build for registration for educational offerings, including the 360 Workshop series and online courses
  • Execute public-facing registration build on Tessitura Network Web Express platform (TNEW) for educational offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager for organic social media strategy and content creation for The School at Jacob’s Pillow.
  • Assist in content creation for paid social media campaigns for The School.
  • Collaborate across the Marketing department to align storytelling and content messaging and distribution for The School  in support of building and growing engagement with Jacob’s Pillow’s programs. 
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to execute marketing strategy for The School’s annual recruitment and application cycle for summer and winter programs. 
Programs at Jacob’s Pillow 
  • Execute marketing strategy for Community Engagement programming. Play a leading role in shaping storytelling to center partners’ and artists' voices, experience, and communities. 
  • Support and work with the Marketing team to amplify and broaden the reach of the content developed or stored in The Archives. 
  • Support periodic marketing staffing needs at School and community events, virtually and in-person. 
  • Collaborate on creating marketing content that features alumni and artist faculty of The School, community artists, and community partners, including overseeing the drafting, editing, and publishing social media content, blog posts, and email campaigns. 
  • Assist the collection and distribution of media assets to support strategic initiatives including one-sheets, text copy, images, and video files for community partners, studios, and universities for cross-promotion opportunities. 
  • Provide administrative support with scheduling summer interns collaboratively with the marketing department to support needs of flyering and postering, campus tours, marketing tables, and other engagement opportunities. 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in marketing, community engagement, or audience development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing outreach strategies and community partnerships to successfully grow and diversify audiences.
  • Experience building partnerships that support audience and revenue growth..
  • Proficiency with digital marketing principles and platforms, including email marketing, social media engagement, website content management, and developing marketing plans.Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Arts Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience in managing multiple projects at one time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous project management experience in marketing, community development, and/or performing arts, cultural organization, or non-profit sector.
  • Experience planning and executing promotional events and activations
  • Experience working with email marketing and automation services, such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, Wordfly, or Prospect2 (preferred)
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems
  • Fluency in Tessitura and TNEW
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Availability for in-person, 6-day workweeks during the summer Festival; weekly 6th workday is made up for in comp time during fall, winter, and spring.
  • Experience working with Canva, PhotoShop, InDesign, and other Creative Suite programs
  • Passion for and knowledge of dance and the performing arts a plus
  • A valid driver's license is beneficial.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • On-site work takes place across a large, multi-building campus with varied terrain. The role involves working both indoors in a shared office space and outdoors to support events in all weather conditions.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting and working on a computer. Involves frequent walking across campus, sometimes on uneven ground. Includes the ability to staff marketing tables and events, which may require standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of marketing materials and supplies (up to 25 lbs).
  • Occasional local and regional travel is required to represent Jacob's Pillow at promotional events, conferences, or partner meetings.
