What is a damage control assistant?

Damage Control Assistants are personnel, often in naval or maritime settings, responsible for coordinating and managing emergency responses to onboard incidents such as fires, flooding, or structural damage. A Damage Control Assistant (DCA) is responsible for overseeing the ship's response to emergencies such as fires, flooding, or other casualties.
