Sr. Journeyman Electrician (Foreman level)

Location: Frankford DE and surrounding Eastern Shore area

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Project Manager / Electrical Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, licensed Sr. Journeyman Foreman Electrician who brings a unique blend of traditional electrical expertise and civil/trenching experience. In this role, you won't just be pulling wire and terminating panels; you will play a critical role in our underground infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate understands how to safely coordinate, excavate, layout, and install underground conduit runs, duct banks, and grounding systems across commercial, industrial, or municipal sites in the Greater Richmond area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a crew of journeymen and apprentices. Assign daily tasks, enforce PPE compliance, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Project Management: Manage commercial and residential projects from the ground up or during renovations. Track crew hours, monitor job costs, manage budgets, and maintain strict adherence to construction schedules.
  • Technical Execution & Planning: Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction documents. Plan project layouts and safely manage complex power wiring, switchgear installations, lighting controls, and service upgrades.
  • Quality & Code Compliance: Ensure all residential and commercial work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations. Perform quality control inspections on completed work.
  • Site Coordination: Coordinate effectively with general contractors, homeowners, project managers, and other trades on-site. Manage material and equipment inventory to prevent delays.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • License: Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of combined residential and commercial electrical experience, with at least 2–5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical theory, mechanical power wiring, fire alarm systems, and standard voltage requirements.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Safety & Compliance: Active OSHA 30 certification preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
