Scope of Responsibility:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work materials according to production schedule.

Essential Duties:

  • Uses the ERP system to process Material Requirements Planning (MRP) jobs
  • Reviews and updates operations in the ERP system
  • Updates information in the ERP system as directed
  • Utilizes production logs and job log sheets to ensure accuracy and make corrections when needed.
  • Tracks and audits production employees' attendance and applied laborWorks with purchasing to schedule and coordinates materials
  • Contributes to team efforts by effectively communicating and working well with members of other departments and personnel to accomplish assigned tasks and projects
  • Track and monitor material advance working with purchasing to verify on time delivery
  • Coordinate outsourcing of parts to and from other sites.
  • Manages multiple projects with a thorough understanding of specific vendor needs and schedules
  • Continuously monitors progress on daily work schedules to assure that satisfactory progress is being made to meet Sabre customer demands
  • Assures accurate information by gathering specifications, drawings, and other related documents for review; compiles documentation into the Vantage-Epicor system
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Regular and on-time attendance

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred

Experience:

  • 2 years recent administrative or related experience working in steel manufacturing environment is preferred
  • 1 or more years recent experience using an ERP/MRP system is preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Regular and timely attendance is required
  • Must possess professional and effective English verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented and self-driven
  • Must be a team player and able to effectively multi-task, with a high level of accuracy, in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be flexible to adapt to change and updates regularly
  • Must have a basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprints desired.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
  • Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
  • Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
