Job description

Position Type: Part-Time / Seasonal

Location: Snappy Ballpark and The Rec field

Schedule: Daytime, occasional evenings and weekends.


Position Summary:

The Softball & Baseball Grounds Crew position helps prepare and maintain ballfields for youth and community games. This position ensures fields are safe, clean, and ready for play by performing routine field maintenance, facility upkeep, and basic game setup.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drag and maintain infields before and after games.
  • Drag and maintain the warning tracks.
  • Paint lines on fields.
  • Prepare fields for play, including placing bases at correct distances for scheduled games.
  • Set up and reset field equipment such as bases, helmets, and other shared gear.
  • Pick up garbage and help keep the fields, dugouts, and spectator areas clean as needed.
  • Occasionally clean or check restrooms in concessions stand area.
  • Assist with light facility upkeep around the ballfield complex.
  • Monitor fields during games and address minor maintenance needs as they arise.
  • Help prepare fields for tournaments or special events when scheduled.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate physical work such as dragging fields, lifting bases, and walking the facility.
  • Basic knowledge of softball and baseball field setup is helpful but not required (training provided).


Preferred Skills:

  • Interest in sports, parks, or recreation.
  • Good attention to detail when preparing fields for play.
  • Ability to follow schedules and communicate with staff.


Physical Requirements:
