Fine Grade Dozer Operator

A respected Southern California grading and excavation contractor is seeking a Fine Grade Dozer Operator to join their Operated Equipment Rental Division.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a family-owned company known for providing highly skilled operators and modern equipment to leading civil contractors throughout the region.

This is a union position with year-round project opportunities throughout Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Fine Grade Dozer Operator Responsibilities:

  • Operate Cat D5K, D6T, and D8T dozers on active job sites
  • Perform precision fine grading for residential housing tract pads
  • Execute finish grade work on roads, highways, and civil infrastructure projects
  • Utilize Trimble GPS grade control systems for accurate grading
  • Work efficiently with slope boards and grade checking processes
  • Read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and site layouts
  • Maintain tight grade tolerances and high finish standards
  • Communicate professionally with foremen, superintendents, and grade checkers on-site
  • Obtain client signatures on daily rental tickets
  • Submit signed dailies and weekly timesheets per company procedures
  • Represent the company professionally while operating on client job sites

Fine Grade Dozer Operator Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must have proven experience operating Cat D5K, D6T, and D8T dozers
  • Strong experience performing finish grading on residential tract pads
  • Experience with fine grading on roads, highways, and civil infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency using Trimble GPS grade control systems
  • Experience working with slope boards
  • Ability to read grading plans and construction blueprints
  • Ability to maintain tight grading tolerances and quality finish standards
  • Strong communication and coordination skills on active job sites
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
  • Valid California driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to work occasional night shifts when required

Fine Grade Dozer Operator Preferred Background & Skills:

  • 10+ years experience working with grading contractors on large residential developments
