Job Description:
KGI is seeking applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach Capstone for the Doctor of Medical Science program (DMSc) in the School of Health Sciences (SHS). This program is taught asynchronously online.

Education and Experience:
The position requires a DMSc, PhD in a health-science field, MD, DO or a related discipline.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Develop, teach, and maintain assigned courses, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation requirements.
  • Guide students in developing, refining, and completing a capstone project such as: clinical practice improvement initiative, research project or systematic review, leadership or policy review, or educational innovation project.
  • Approve topic proposals, project plans, IRB needs (if applicable), and deliverable timelines.
  • Ensure integrity of academic standards including adherence to IRB/ethics, HIPAA considerations, responsible conduct of research, and APA or discipline-specific scholarly formats.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and scholarly feedback aligned with course rubrics and doctoral expectations.
  • Maintain open lines of communication via email, LMS, or virtual meetings.
  • Upload course materials, manage grades, and communicate with students via the institution's LMS (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
  • Monitor student progress and engagement using LMS tools.
  • Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, course evaluations, and curriculum updates as requested.
  • Coordinate with lead faculty or program directors on course improvements and student outcomes.

Hours, Classification, and Status:
This is a part-time, exempt, adjunct faculty position and is not eligible for benefits.
Schedules will vary depending on course assignments and the needs of the department or the Institute.
The base salary range for this position is $2,500 - $15,000 per semester, depending on credits per course.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans. Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal parameters. Ability to bend and stoop, for example, to file. Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example to lift or move office supplies, files, books and packages.
Ability to travel locally as needed to meet business requirements, which may include driving or other modes of transportation. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time at activities/events on and off-campus.
