What is a dexa?

A Dexa job typically refers to a position involving Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scanning, a technique used to measure bone density and body composition. Professionals in this role operate DEXA machines, analyze results, and assist in diagnosing osteoporosis or other conditions. Common job titles include DEXA Technician, Radiologic Technologist, or Bone Densitometry Technologist. Training or certification may be required depending on the employer and location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the dexa position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) Technician, you should have expertise in operating DEXA scanners, knowledge of human anatomy, and formal training in radiologic technology, often supported by ARRT certification.
