Job description


We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our steel fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all materials, welds, and finished components meet established industry standards and company specifications. This role involves conducting inspections, documenting results, identifying non-conforming materials, and collaborating with production teams to maintain the highest level of quality and compliance throughout the fabrication process.
  • Conductinspections as required, including nonconforming receipt inspections.
  • Inspectwelds for compliance with AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Performfinal inspections on fabricated steel components.
  • Measureoverall part characteristics to ensure specifications are met.
  • Recordand report inspection results accurately.
  • Inspectgrade, shape, and thickness of incoming materials.
  • Verifythat bolts meet purchase order specifications.
  • Maintainthorough inspection records.
  • Identifyand document non-conforming materials.
  • Ensureproper gauges are used to measure weld sizes.
  • Guaranteecalibrated tools are used during all inspections.

Requirements
  • Minimum10 years of experience in steel fabrication processes.
  • Meetsqualification requirements per AWS D1.1 - Section 8.1.4.2 (5).
  • Trainingand experience consistent with ANSI/AISC 360-16 Chapter N.4.1 to performfinal inspections across all typical company processes.
  • QCIqualifications include expertise in welding acceptance criteria,high-strength bolting, and erection tolerances.
