Job description

The Sr. Global Product Manager, Instruments & Software will be the primary driver of the strategic direction and growth for the Solutions Business Unit's flow cytometer business (instrument, acquisition analysis software, service, and related instrument consumables). S/he is responsible for managing and executing the product and market development including marketing analysis, strategic planning, new product commercialization, marketing communications, and life-cycle management of assigned products. The portfolio consists of the Cytek flow cytometers and associated software focused on instruments and workflows found outside of flow cytometry core facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the marketing strategy and execution of the flow cytometer cell analyzer business as it relates to the Cytek Biosciences brand, product portfolio, and services
  • Development and execution of primary VOC / market research surveys / questionnaires to inform product development and product requirements for new product offerings in the RUO instrumentation space, with focus on flow cytometry
  • Develop and deliver product requirements for new instruments and software by leveraging industry experience, voice of customer feedback, primary / secondary market research
  • Formulate and develop customer requirements based upon external user insight, and jointly with R&D, translate customer requirements into specific and measurable product requirement specifications
  • Participate in core team meetings throughout product development to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Develop commercialization and launch plans and materials prior to market launch of any new instrument or software products
  • Work collaboratively with other internal stakeholders to ensure integration with reagent and bioinformatics business goals
  • Develop, implement and manage new and/or existing products in a portfolio by writing and implementing product marketing plans, participating as the business lead on product development teams, and providing data related to competitors, the market, product positioning, revenue and unit forecasting, and pricing strategies
  • Develop recommendations and create business cases for new products and actively manage their commercialization and lifecycle post launch
  • Produce and drive credible regional market-based forecasts. Size market opportunities and profit targets for assigned product portfolio
  • Generate and nurture leads, grow brand recognition, and stimulate interest in Cytek analyzer products through effective content marketing
  • Identify and create effective promotional collateral marketing pieces and fine tune those pieces using ROI analytical tools
  • Work with global teams to identify and coordinate relevant conferences/tradeshows
  • Coordinate with domestic and international business units to ensure consistency with marketing communications activities and plans
  • Responsible for growing customer engagement through user meetings, webinars and working with Content Marketing to create web-based tools
  • Actively engage with R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Field Service, Sales, and Finance departments by providing marketing input on potential new products or product enhancements
  • Develop and implement Sales Training tools and programs for relevant products
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and competitive activity relevant to the assigned product globally
  • Coordinate the Collaborations Manager and technical/field application specialists to identify collaborators for generation of white papers, data sheets and publications relevant to the assigned product
  • Interface with RUO Instrument, Clinical, Bioinformatics, and Reagent Marketing teams to help create global marketing plans and marketing budgets

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience are required
  • 3+ years of product management experience in a related field, including product management and product launch experience in the RUO laboratory instrumentation field required
  • 2+ years experience in field sales, junior product management, or regional marketing required
  • M.B.A. preferred
  • Practical experience in common research cytometry applications including apoptosis, cell health, cell counting, cell cycle is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various lab and organizational types, including academic labs, cell therapy manufacturing, clinical research organizations is ideal.

  • Flow cytometry analyzer and/or sorter experience required
  • 4-5+ years experience in a similar product management, marketing, or business development role including experience in managing a product line, pricing, and forecasting and supply/demand responsibility
  • Strong customer focus with a demonstrated track record of successful customer interactions
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, relationship building, analytical, project management and planning skills are necessary to be successful in this position. Strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to see new business opportunities set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong working relationships
