Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of our production team to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating workflow, supporting cylinder filling operations, developing employees, and driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This position is located onsite in Lenexa, KS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the production team, including planning work, setting priorities, and allocating resources based on customer demand and business needs.
  • Support cylinder filling operations and other production activities as needed to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time completion of customer orders.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, quality, and schedule attainment, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, training, and performance feedback to production employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by reinforcing safety procedures, conducting routine observations, and addressing unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Oversee production quality requirements, including cylinder inspections, filling documentation, labeling, traceability, inventory accuracy, and production documentation.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, and other teams to resolve production issues and keep work moving.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Experience & Education

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations, plus at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documents, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Experience with compressed gas cylinder filling, industrial gas filling, fire suppression systems, or similar manufacturing operations strongly preferred.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in fire protection, compressed gas, chemical processing, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform work on the production floor.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include compressed gases, industrial equipment, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Ability to work approximately 40-50 hours per week based on production needs.
  • Ability to travel domestically on occasion.
