Job description

ENROUTE.CC is a cycling-focused destination built for riders who value performance, design, and consistency. Founded in 2020 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, we curate cycling apparel and accessories from trusted brands and pair them with thoughtful service, deep product knowledge, and a strong local cycling culture. Alongside ENROUTE.CC, our running side (ENROUTE.RUN) brings the same standards to the run community: considered footwear and apparel, honest fitting, and a local culture built around the sport rather than the trend. The cafรฉ completes the space: a place for riders and runners to gather before and after, held to the same bar for care and consistency as everything else we do.

We believe good gear should do its job quietly. That means function before hype, fit over trends, and honest recommendations grounded in experience. Whether someone is training consistently or simply moving through daily life, Enroute exists to support that process with clarity, quality, and restraint.

Role Overview

Boulder is our first store outside Canada, and it cannot open on one manager alone. As Assistant Store Manager you are the second keyholder: you run shifts, you open and close, and you carry the standard when the Store Manager is not on the floor. You will help hire and train the opening team, and you will have a real hand in what this store becomes rather than inheriting someone else's version of it.

  • Reports to: Store Manager
  • Location: Boulder, CO
  • Store opens: September 12, 2026
  • Compensation: $55,000โ€“$68,000 per year (USD)
  • Employment Type: Full-time ยท salaried
  • Eligibility: Authorized to work in the United States
What You'll OwnRunning shifts
  • Open and close the store, and run the floor as the senior person on shift
  • Own cash handling, POS, and end-of-day accuracy
  • Keep service standards steady whether or not the Store Manager is in
Team
  • Help hire, onboard, and train the opening team
  • Coach associates on product, fit, and service in the moment rather than after the fact
  • Build the schedule with the Store Manager, and cover the gaps
Floor and stock
  • Own receiving, restocking, and merchandising to the Enroute standard
  • Keep the stockroom and fitting areas organised and accurate
  • Flag stock issues, sizing gaps, and product feedback to buying
Customers and community
  • Give the same honest, knowledgeable service you expect from the team
  • Support group rides, run club, demo days, and local partnerships
  • Help Boulder feel like a local store rather than an import
What You Bring (Essential)
  • Two or more years in retail with keyholder or supervisory responsibility
  • Comfortable leading a shift and making the call when the manager is out
  • Genuine interest in cycling, running, or technical apparel
  • Available for weekends, evenings, and the opening period
  • Reliable with cash, stock, and process
Strongly Preferred
  • Specialty retail or endurance sport background
  • Experience opening a new store or location
  • Personal riding or running experience, and a connection to the Boulder scene
How Success Is Measured

Success in this role looks like:

  • Shifts that run well without the Store Manager present
  • An opening team that is still here past the first season
  • Stock accuracy, and a floor that holds its standard
  • Customers who come back because of how they were treated
What We Offer
  • Health benefits package
  • Room to grow with a growing specialty retailer
  • A genuine hand in opening a new store
