Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall operation of the Parts Department for a market area. Manage the processes and staff responsible for the allocation and distribution of parts and materials for service repairs from a specific market territory. Perform other assigned Parts Department functions including inventory control of parts and materials in stock and on order. Reports to Region Operations Manager of assigned area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support market area Parts Coordinators, branch and Field staff and Hobart Parts:
Manage the Parts Departments in the branches in assigned market area (e.g., oversee operations, manage inventory based on demand and cost goals, implement workforce planning strategies, develop knowledge of and ability to interpret parts-related information for Parts Department Team, branch, field and management staff and parts customers, establish understanding of department financial statements to ensure department’s profitability, monitor department’s performance with key metrics)
Maintain knowledge of stock-control systems, inventory, and parts management policies and procedures, (e.g., gather performance data from assigned branches [e.g., annual inspection of branch-level Parts Departments], learn basic field service (i.e., FSA) and function of service technician laptop computer, gain understanding of dispatching and accounting functions in relation to Parts procedures, attend financial review calls, develop understanding of relationship between market area parts management and Hobart Parts’ performance goals)
Act as Parts Management resource person for staff (e.g., answer questions concerning parts management processes, network with teams to create, develop and improve standard operating procedures [i.e., SOPs], provide reports for Branch/District Manager and other members of management)
Inventory analysis and support:
Manage and maintain the Parts inventory control system including adherence to organizational SOPs for ordering and stocking parts (e.g., assist with establishing truck inventories based on overall Branch usage, keep abreast of new products and related parts and required parts for parts modifications, utilize organization tools [e.g., Competitive Parts Report and FCC Parts Report to aid in service call preparedness); perform cycle counts and/or inventories (e.g., develop a Cycle count program to count high use parts on Technician vehicles)
Assist with establishing truck inventories based on overall Branch usage (e.g., monitor truck inventories, keep abreast of new products and related parts and required parts for parts modifications)
Maintain accurate parts sales records (e.g., verify that all billing is up to date at the end of the month, ensure that sales and purchase orders are submitted)
Prepare requested reports on order status, parts and materials shortages
Provide detailed reports for branch manager and region manager of all findings
Participate in the recruitment and selection process for the Parts Department staff (e.g., use online applicant tracking system to open requisition, interview and hire candidates)
Train and lead the Parts Department teams (e.g., assign and direct work, guide on the job training for new employees, conduct team meetings, reward and discipline employees, address employee issues and complaints, coach for performance, assess Parts Department staff through annual review and merit process.)
Oversee the implementation, execution and evaluation of Field projects:
Take charge of projects to ensure completion in all assigned branches before deadlines (e.g., obtain scope of project [e.g., PM programs, Zero Usage type programs), identify stakeholders and deliverables, establish available and needed resources, create project timelines, form monitoring processes, assign staff, act as point of contact for all project issues, provide report for management upon completion)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of parts or clerical experience is required. Similar work experience includes any or all the following: ordering, shipping, any receiving, parts sales, and inventory control.

Compensation Information:
The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is below: 30.00 - 40.50 USD Hourly
