The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), conducting vulnerability assessments, and remediating security findings across Windows and Linux environments in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards.This role requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, compliance frameworks, and secure system administration within a government or DoD environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform system hardening activities on Windows and Linux operating systems in accordance with DoD and industry security standards. Implement and validate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure systems remain compliant and secure. Conduct vulnerability assessments utilizing the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool. Analyze vulnerability scan results and remediate findings through configuration changes, patch management, and security controls implementation. Apply vendor patches and updates to mitigate identified vulnerabilities across enterprise systems. Support cybersecurity compliance efforts and maintain documentation related to system security posture. Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve security issues and maintain operational readiness. Ensure compliance with applicable DoD cybersecurity policies, procedures, and Technical Instructions. Required QualificationsCertifications / ClearanceMinimum certification compliant with DoDD 8140.01 (or successor policy) at the Intermediate level for Cybersecurity workforce requirements, specifically certification category 541 or equivalent as required by the Technical Instruction. Must possess and maintain a final adjudicated Tier 5 security investigation with an IT Level I designation in JPAS and/or DISS. Active security clearance required or ability to maintain eligibility as required by the program. ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years of cybersecurity experience performing system hardening activities. Demonstrated experience implementing STIGs in enterprise environments. Hands-on experience performing vulnerability assessments using ACAS. Demonstrated experience remediating vulnerability findings and implementing vendor patches on both Linux and Windows operating systems. Preferred SkillsStrong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies and security compliance standards. Experience supporting secure enterprise or mission-critical environments. Knowledge of vulnerability management and patch management processes. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex cybersecurity issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Work EnvironmentGovernment and/or DoD support environment. May require work in classified or secured environments.
