Job description

Job Description: Dave & Buster's and Main Event are seeking a strategic and hands-on Sr. Director, Cybersecurity, CISO to lead and evolve our enterprise cybersecurity program. This role is responsible for protecting our guests, team members, digital platforms, retail systems, and corporate infrastructure while enabling business growth and innovation. The leader will develop and execute the company’s cybersecurity strategy, oversee security operations, manage cyber risk and compliance initiatives, and partner closely with IT, Digital, Legal, Risk Management, and other business leaders. This role will also lead the organization's Microsoft security ecosystem and drive a modern Zero Trust security approach across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the enterprise cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, and governance framework.
  • Lead security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Oversee Microsoft security technologies including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID (Azure AD), Purview, Intune, Azure, and Microsoft 365 security solutions.
  • Drive identity and access management, endpoint security, cloud security, and data protection initiatives.
  • Establish governance, policies, standards, and controls for enterprise AI adoption and usage.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and other applicable regulatory and security requirements.
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to protect business-critical assets.
  • Lead third-party security reviews, vendor risk assessments, and security audits.
  • Establish contractual data security standards and controls for third-party vendors.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to embed security into enterprise systems, digital products, and operational processes.
  • Develop security awareness and incident prevention programs across the organization (phishing, social engineering, etc.).
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team.
  • Present cybersecurity risks, priorities, and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Manage cybersecurity vendor relationships and technology investments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading enterprise cybersecurity programs within a Microsoft-centric environment.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Purview, Azure, and Microsoft 365 security tools.
  • Experience with security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, cloud security, and identity management.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks including but not limited to NIST, CIS Controls, and PCI DSS.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts and risks to executive and business leaders.
Preferred Experience
  • Supporting multi-location retail, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or consumer-facing organizations.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC, or Microsoft Security certifications.
  • Experience with AI platforms and services (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini).
  • Experience in publicly traded or highly regulated organizations.
