Job Description

Lead Technical Program Manager for Visa Commercial Solutions will provide oversight and governance on cross-functional delivery of the VCS programs & initiatives as well as ensure seamless and timely planning, prioritization and execution, leveraging the Visa Agentic Tool Chain (VATC). This role is critical for a successful delivery of the 2030 Strategic objectives and milestones on the product & technology roadmap.

The person must possess a can-do attitude, a growth-oriented mindset, process-focused and an ability to deal with change and ambiguity. Candidates must have a high technical background, extremelydata centric and analytical, and be willing to learn new technologies, leverage Claude Code, Gen AI and other Agentic AI technologies to optimize and govern the programs. (S)he must understand the products and solutions being developed and possess a keen business acumen. Experience in Enterprise Operational methodologies (Agentic, Agile, Stage gate) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Deep expertise in steering and implementing large scale product development transformations from ground up and act as a point of contact with geographically disbursed teams where risk and ambiguity is high, and outcome driven.

  • Manage the team's growth, learnings, and overall development while aligning with the organization's and PMO's goals.

  • Partner with Product & Technology leads to drive and ensure effective Annual Operational Planning, Quarterly Product Reviews and program reviews leveraging Visa Enterprise tools (GitHub, ServiceNow, Clarity, Power BI, Jira/Jira Align).

  • Help and facilitate prioritization of Initiatives & Epics (Product requirements) that align to the Objectives & Business Results (OKRs) and available workforce capacity.

  • Manage resource rosters for their Portfolios or Team of Agentic Squads in Jira, Jira Align and Polaris

  • Manage program forecasts, budgets, labor capitalization and asset depreciation/amortization.

  • Ensure effective participation of the teams in the Quarterly Planning activities across programs, collaborating with partners in Operations & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and other Visa Technology verticals.

  • Ensure that the program and projects follow Visa's Agentic Lifecycle Methodology and KeyControls, and that accurate and timely information is reported regularly on program progress and financial status in various forums and reporting modes.

  • Act as a coach and mentor to the PMO team and the scrum teams on adopting agile best practices. Be the leader in advancing the ongoing transformation to Visa's Agentic Lifecycle Management Operating Model.

  • Learn and adopt Visa's Secure Software Development Lifecycle Management (SSDLC), Golden Rules, release management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.

  • Provide telemetry in quality, flow, and value metrics-based reporting to all stakeholders, hold regular program-level reviews

  • Cultivate a mindset of rigorous planning & prioritizing while proactively identifying risks and dependencies to accelerate value realization.

  • Manage cross-functional communications to maximize understanding, impact, and speed of change adoption.

  • Act as a coach and mentor to the Engineering, PMO and Product teams on adopting agile best practices and a cadence of portfolio, program & team level ceremonies.

  • Capture metrics & measurables that clearly indicate progress toward accomplishment of Reimagining Work at Visa Initiative.

  • Develop a rigor for understanding and leveraging the productivity, quality, flow, usage, adoption, and value-based metrics to accelerate benefit realization.

  • Generate and improve the agility metrics (performance, predictability, and persistency) by optimizing and governing the Visa processes for planning, budgeting, prioritization, delivery, release management, workforce planning and stakeholder (ELT, SLT) reporting.

  • Assist and support with External (FFIEC) & Internal audits on the program. Ensure that all programs supported by the PMO adhere to always audit compliant processes.

  • Ensure that identified security vulnerabilities are addressed and remediated in a timely manner to prevent non-compliance. Ensure that exceptions are obtained in a timely manner and kept to a minimum.

  • Volunteer for additional responsibilities related to Visa processes, cross-functional project governance and hiring of team members and participate in required fire drills.

Visarequiresat least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 16+ years of work experience in technical program management or software development with a Bachelor s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 5 years of work experience with a PhD.

  • Experience developing plugins & agents using Claude Code, cline or other AI Agentic tools

  • Enterprise Program Management Tools (Jira, Jira Align, (Clarity, Primavera, HP PPM etc.).

  • Scaled Agile Certification (SAFe for Teams, Leading SAFe, Implementing SAFe, SAFe for Release Train Engineers).

  • Experience with analytical reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI.)

  • Experience with productivity and collaboration tools, including GitHub, Share point, Microsoft Teams, Wiki pages, Microsoft 360 copilot etc

  • Experience in managing large-scale engineering and operational projects.

  • Experience in driving alignment with business objectives across multiple teams.

  • Experience in implementing advanced project management techniques.

  • Experience in promoting innovation within technical program management.

  • Scaled Agile Framework Certified - SAFe Agilist or SAFe Program Consultant

  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Experience with JIRA Align, Tableau, Power BI.

  • Experience with project management techniques software development lifecycle in a Fin-Tech background scrum or agile experience.

  • Experience with productivity and collaboration tools, including Share point, Microsoft Teams, Wiki pages, Microsoft 360 copilot etc.

  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning to improve. effectiveness of the Product delivery.

The estimated salary range for this positionis $173,100.00 to $ 276,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
