Become a Principal Manager Distribution Construction, Distribution Field Operations Organization at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead the Northwest Division. You will be accountable for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric distribution system in support of SCE's strategic priorities. As the Principal Manager, you will oversee a workforce of approximately 100 employees, including bargaining unit/represented personnel, with 4 Sr Manager direct reports responsible for Field Training, Operational Excellence, Divisional Work Execution and Apparatus Operations. You will provide visible leadership in the field, reinforce a strong safety culture, and ensure operational excellence through proactive oversight of field performance, work allocation, reliability improvement efforts, and customer commitments. Responsibilities
  • Oversees and drives the planning, design, and operation of electric transmission and distribution systems, developing and maintaining the strategic technology plans and roadmaps for the company energy delivery systems.
  • Leads the development and integration of broad and complex business process improvement initiatives as well as the integration and alignment of organizational transformation initiatives, including change management.
  • Leads the overall coordination of processes related to budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting and work order management, providing support to existing engineering projects or packaging proposals for future projects.
  • Oversees and ensures company policies are followed and implements recommendations regarding staffing decisions.
  • Develops and leads the implementation of innovative cost savings projects (capital and operational) and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply, managing the company's capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Manages the implementation and compliance of the firm's global delivery framework to drive revenue, profit and cash management in order to meet or exceed budget and forecasts.
  • Designs facilities for new and existing customers according to company energy delivery services construction standards and interprets administrative instructions for consistent and cost-effective designs.
  • Oversees complex operational analyses and leads medium to large project teams that support informed decision making within the business unit.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience in energy delivery or distribution, preventing electrical service interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated visible leadership presence, with the ability to influence, model, and reinforce a strong safety-first culture through employee engagement, coaching, and consistent alignment with the organization's leadership expectations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including effective written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with experience presenting to all levels of the organization-frontline crews, district/region leadership, cross-functional business partners, and executive leadership.
  • Experience performing or managing Distribution construction, maintenance, and inspection activities, with strong understanding of field operations, work methods, and crew safety practices.
  • Proficiency in project management, including the ability to forecast budgets and labor needs, identify and mitigate operational and safety risks, manage interdependent workstreams, and adjust scope to meet evolving business priorities.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic business plans that drive operational excellence, elevate safety performance, and advance key organizational priorities across multiple teams or geographic areas.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including effective written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with experience presenting to all levels of the organization-frontline crews, district/region leadership, cross-functional partners, and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee and public safety, including experience overseeing safety performance, conducting field engagements, and ensuring the effective use and compliance of safe work practices.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements, including the ability to ensure adherence to all safety, training, organization standards, policies, and applicable regulatory/governmental requirements.
  • Experience reviewing operational performance and workforce forecasts, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making, identify trends, address performance gaps, and develop employees to meet future talent needs.
  • Experience leading bargaining-unit employees, including applying collective bargaining agreements, managing labor-related issues, and fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant operational experience.

Additional Information
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
