Adjunct Faculty – Cybersecurity for Systems and Networks

Location: San Diego, CA

UMGC seeks adjunct faculty to teach on‑site in San Diego for the Cloud Computing & Telecommunications program. The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity, collaborating with a network of faculty, and providing high‑quality instruction to adult learners.

Courses to Teach
  • Introduction to Cybersecurity (CTCH 605) – Basic concepts of cybersecurity, security management, architecture, operations, and physical security. Covers cyber terrorism, national security impacts, and includes hands‑on lab activities.
  • Cybersecurity Threats and Analysis (CTCH 615) – Tools and tactics for managing cyber threats, analyzing exposure, and collecting intelligence. Emphasizes the interaction between security and usability.
  • Cybersecurity for Systems and Networks (CTCH 625) – Study of security issues in LANs, WANs, network operating systems, and infrastructure protocols. Covers hardening tools, techniques, and data at rest protection.
  • Cybersecurity Attack Prevention Strategies (CTCH 635) – Targeted cyberattack planning, preparation, response, and recovery. Covers attack phases and mitigation techniques.
  • Cybersecurity Exploitation Methodologies (CTCH 645) – Latest tools, techniques, and ethical hacking practices. Focus on hands‑on exploitation in a lab‑intensive environment.
Required Education and Experience
