Purpose Statement: The Senior Financial Systems Analyst provides Customer Service Excellence by acting as the primary liaison between the Finance business team and IT. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of financial system enhancements and projects, encompassing business analysis (requirements, project delivery), and application analysis (support, optimization, troubleshooting, and incident reduction) for core financial applications. They will help implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way, ensuring financial systems are stable, optimized, and meet the complex needs of the global Finance team.
Key Job Accountabilities:
  • Project Leadership & Business Analysis: Work with global Finance stakeholders to elicit, prioritize, and document high-level business requirements for changes. Manage the priority of changes and articulate them into documented functional specifications for solutions development.
  • Application Expertise & Support: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for core financial applications, including JDE Finance module, financial SaaS applications, Google tools, and integration platforms like Boomi. Provide Level 2 end-user support for escalations, manage the resolution of monthly incidents, and own the coordination and documentation of Month-End support activities.
  • System Optimization & Stability: Drive efforts to reduce the number of recurring incidents by performing root cause analysis, identifying systemic issues, and proposing strategic solutions. Understand the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process to identify opportunities for efficiency and automation such as AI and RPA.
  • Development and Testing Coordination: Create comprehensive test specifications and coordinate the execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features, enhancements, and projects. Utilize skills in SQL creation to support reporting, data analysis, and troubleshoot issues within the financial applications.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Represent the Finance customer area by collaborating with all IT Teams (Infrastructure, Development, Support) to ensure that business requirements are understood and met. At times, may provide and lead the direction of others and assist with the onboarding of new analysts.
  • Data Analysis: Based on experience with finance and data analysis help support from the finance perspective of the role out of Google's serverless enterprise data warehouse, BigQuery. This includes data stewardship, building reporting for customers within finance, and data management in terms of security and quality.
  • Security and Compliance: All team members are responsible for upholding the organization's cybersecurity posture by adhering to security policies and procedures, actively participating in training, protecting data and systems, actively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential security incidents.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferred in accounting, finance, information systems.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience is required, demonstrating a progression in both Business Analysis and Application Support roles.
  • Experience working directly with core financial systems / ERP is required. JD Edwards experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
  • Experience with financial automation tools is highly desirable.

Other Qualifications:
  • Creative problem solving and advanced communications skills required.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment. Agile certifications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of core financial concepts (e.g., GAAP, month-end close processes).
  • Ability to ask tough questions and push back professionally and creatively to ensure the success of the organization and projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL for troubleshooting, analysis, and data validation.
  • Strategic agility and strong understanding of why projects are being done.
  • Comfort with presenting and influencing stakeholders across Finance and IT.
  • Experience performing data analysis through an enterprise level tool.
